Mistakes to Avoid while preparing for IPMAT 2023

There are several mistakes students frequently make when preparing for the IPMAT exam. Please make a note of these because we don’t want you to waste any of your precious time.

Let’s look at the typical errors students make when preparing for the IPMAT.

1- Unable to choose the best resources or study materials

One of the most common mistakes students make when studying for any exam is consulting numerous books. Before beginning your preparations, you can read as many books as you like. But when preparing and pressed for time, focus on the most significant and popular books. The IPMAT Preparation Books you consult also impact your level of preparation. Your exam prep books may need to change as the exam pattern or syllabus does! You can avoid buying books about a specific section if it is eliminated.

2 – Not regularly reading newspapers and editorials

Students are encouraged to read newspapers in light of the IPMAT test’s advancement and changing requirements. To improve your IPMAT exam preparation and score well on the verbal ability section, you must read newspapers and editorials on a daily basis. Two times per day, read “The Hindu” and “Indian Express. “You can read the newspaper first thing in the morning to get the day going and then continue studying later.

3 -Not doing enough prep for mathematics

The tone of the entire paper is set by mathematics, so please don’t ignore it. For instance, you only have about two to three months to study for the entrance exam. Make a preparation schedule, practice the questions from the previous year’s test, and have a well-thought-out strategy. Despite the fact that the subject is allegedly difficult, if you understand the fundamentals, the section will count for the most points. You can only succeed in your preparations if you practice problems. Your IPMAT Maths Preparation will benefit if your fundamentals are solid and cover the fundamental concepts of maths from classes 11 and 12.

For the section that has the most weight, you must thoroughly prepare. There will be between 18000 and 20000 students who take the IPMAT in 2023, but only 120 seats are available at the university. Without MASSIVE preparation in mathematics, you will not be admitted to the institute. So, regularly practice maths. Allow a variety of topics from all subjects to appear on your schedule.

4 – Having a late start to your mock test

Students frequently start taking mock tests late or take fewer mock tests than is necessary to pass the IPMAT entrance exam. Listen!! Start making your preparations as soon as you finish your syllabus. Mock tests are crucial because they define your performance on the real test. We are aware that the majority of class 12 graduates are instructed in school to first finish the IPMAT Exam Syllabus before practicing sample papers or taking mock exams. However, this does not hold true for this kind of national-level entrance exam.

Before the final exam, students must take at least 50 to 70 practice tests. Let’s say you’re determined to succeed on the Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT). By taking mock exams, you can identify your strong and weak sections, allowing you to devote more time to the section that needs it. You have 120 minutes to complete the exam, so you must move quickly to attempt as many questions as you can. Taking mock exams is the only way to gain this experience and learn time management, not reading books.

If you don’t regularly take the sectional tests or IPMAT mock tests, you won’t be able to develop the speed and accuracy necessary to pass the test.

5 -They frequently make subpar notes just to save time.

The majority of students don’t take notes because they believe that doing so is time-consuming, pointless, and that they lack the skills necessary to take effective notes. Include at least 30 minutes in your IPMAT study plan for making notes for the verbal and quantitative sections. Making notes before your exam period is found to be very beneficial. We advise you to take careful notes and to decorate them with colorful pens. When you write your own notes, you’ll feel much more at home.

When you are studying, taking notes will take up a lot of your time, but it will be worthwhile when you can review each topic separately and avoid devoting your entire day to one subject. One topic will take 2 to 3 hours to cover while taking notes, but when it comes time to revise, it will only take about 10 minutes to recall the material and do a thorough review. There must be a separate notebook for each subject.

6 – Lack of a proper preparation strategy

You should have a good plan of preparation ready when you wake up in the morning. As long as you have a sound plan, it is irrelevant. Once you’ve created a realistic schedule, follow it and hit your goals. Make a schedule that works for you by sitting down and doing so. Recognize your limitations and make a study plan because your friend’s schedule might not be flexible with yours.

Make sure you accomplish your daily goals. If you can consistently accomplish them, you’re on the right track and don’t need to worry. Enjoy what you discover! It’s unlikely to pass the exam if you have a bad attitude and a pessimistic outlook.

7- Too much is left for the end.

It’s crucial to revise, and you need time to go over the entire syllabus. Don’t save the tough or simple subjects for last. Have a mix of simple and challenging topics on your preparation list to avoid feeling stressed or overworked. Your preference for a topic has no bearing; any subject that is more important must be discussed and revised. You must therefore make sure to review and get ready for them.
