Introduction

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) organize the Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) to select candidates who want to enter their five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM). IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak organize the exam to welcome students who want to start their management studies directly from 12th grade.

Students should solve IPMAT previous year question papers to grasp the examination pattern and question difficulty levels while becoming familiar with the types of questions.

Importance of IPMAT Previous Year Question Papers

Cracking down IPMAT demands students to dedicate complete attention to exam preparation. Students can improve their exam preparation by using previous year question papers because they deliver three essential advantages.

  • A real-time experience of the actual exam
  • Insights into the difficulty level and trends of the paper
  • You will find an important opportunity to recognize which questions return most frequently in such tests.
  • Previous year IPMAT question papers give candidates the opportunity to better their time management skills while sharpening their test-taking accuracy level.

Benefits of Solving Previous Year Papers

Many benefits emerge from solving previous year question paper sets which provide students the following advantages:

  • The process of understanding exam structure requires students to familiarize themselves with the questions their exams include.
  • Real exam-level questions help students build confidence which they need to solve them.
  • Students learn effective distribution methods for their time through previous year paper practice.
  • You need to determine your weak subjects since they require extra attention.
  • The speed of calculations and error minimization improve accuracy in this process.

Exam Pattern of IPMAT

The IPMAT exam consists of three main sections:

Section Number of Questions Time Duration
Quantitative Aptitude (MCQ) 20-25 40 Minutes
Quantitative Aptitude (Short Answer) 15-20 40 Minutes
Verbal Ability (MCQ) 30-35 40 Minutes

The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours), and it follows a negative marking scheme of -1 for each wrong answer (except for short-answer questions).

Subject-wise Analysis of Previous Year Papers

The student can understand essential topics and section weight distribution by examining subject-specific information from past year papers.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Focuses on algebra, arithmetic, number system, and geometry.
  • The computer-based section presents questions from three domains including reading comprehension and sentence correction and vocabulary-based queries.

How to Effectively Use Previous Year Papers for Preparation

  • Follow an actual testing format when you solve papers to increase your exam readiness.
  • Review errors then concentrate on areas where you need improvement.
  • Create a system to track all repetitive mistakes in an error log.
  • Track your scores in order to check your evolving performance throughout time.

Commonly Repeated Topics in IPMAT

Numerous topics become habitual in the IPMAT examination content. These include:

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Profit and loss, percentages, time-speed-distance, logarithms.
  • Verbal Ability: Synonyms, antonyms, grammar-based questions, and inference-based RCs.

Expert Tips to Solve Previous Year Papers

  • Work on one or two previous year papers weekly at first before moving up to increased difficulty.
  • The solution process should include performing problem analysis for mistake identification and strengthening weak parts.
  • The solution starts with papers before moving onto direct topic study.

How to Use IPMAT Previous Year Papers: A 3-Step Plan

  1. Start topic by topic. Before full papers, solve the topic-wise PYQs for one chapter at a time (for example arithmetic, then algebra) so you see how IPMAT asks each concept.
  2. Then sit full papers under exam conditions. Take one year's paper in a single 120-minute sitting with 40-minute section timers. Start with 2019–2021, then move to the more recent papers, which are closest to today's pattern.
  3. Review every paper the same day. Mark each wrong or skipped question as a concept gap, a careless error or a time problem, and redo the concept-gap questions a week later.

Once you have finished the recent papers, switch to full-length mocks: there are only eight real papers, and you need fresh questions on the same pattern for the last months before the exam.

IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT Practice

The papers above are IPMAT Indore papers. IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT add a Logical Reasoning section and use different patterns, so practise them with exam-specific mocks: the Mini IPM Test Series includes 5 IPMAT Rohtak and 5 JIPMAT mocks alongside 10 IPMAT Indore mocks, and the full Hash IPMAT test series goes further. For the patterns themselves, see the IPMAT 2027 syllabus for Indore, Rohtak and JIPMAT.

IPMAT Previous Year Papers: Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I download IPMAT previous year question papers?

This page has free PDFs of the IPMAT Indore question papers from 2019 to 2026, one per year, in the table above. The 2026 paper is also available with its complete answer key on a separate page.

Are IPMAT previous year papers enough for preparation?

No. There are only eight recent papers, so use them to learn the pattern and the type of questions, then move to full-length mocks for fresh practice on the same pattern in the final months.

Which year’s IPMAT paper should I solve first?

Start with the older papers (2019 to 2021) to learn the format, then solve the recent papers (2023 to 2026) closer to the exam, because they are closest to the current pattern and difficulty.

Do IPMAT questions repeat from previous years?

Exact questions rarely repeat, but the same concepts and question types do, especially in arithmetic, algebra and reading comprehension. That is why topic-wise PYQ practice is so useful.

Are there previous year papers for IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT?

The PDFs on this page are IPMAT Indore papers. IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT have their own patterns with a Logical Reasoning section, so the best practice for them is exam-specific mocks, such as the Rohtak and JIPMAT mocks in the Mini IPM Test Series.
