Students with strong mathematical and calculating abilities may find it simpler to pass the IPMAT exam. The secret to doing well on the exam is effective time management. Below are some crucial advice for preparing for the IPMAT:

  • Covering the IPMAT syllabus: As was already mentioned, it’s critical to go over every topic on the IPMAT syllabus. The IPMAT syllabus and key topics must be well-known to students. There will be three sections on the IPMAT exam question paper. One of these sections will be based on Verbal Ability, while the other two will be based on Quantitative Ability. Profit and Loss, Percentage, Simple Equations, Numbers, Time and Distance, Data Interpretation, Geometry, and others are some of the crucial QA topics. Questions in the Verbal Ability section will cover subjects like Grammar, Vocabulary, Word Usage, Sentence Completion, Prepositions, Error Spotting, and more.
  • Speed and Accuracy: The two most important factors in the IPMAT exam are speed and accuracy. Answering a question quickly and accurately is essential. The IPMAT exam has sectional timings, as you are aware. Candidates must therefore carefully allot time to each question. Students must take a sufficient number of practice exams and question papers from prior years in order to increase their speed and accuracy. Try the simpler questions first, then move on to the more challenging ones. Understanding the types of questions, exam format, and scoring methodology used on the IPMAT question paper will also be facilitated by completing previous years’ question papers
  • Work on your strengths and weaknesses: As you study for the exam, students should always be aware of their areas of strength and weakness. Determine your strengths and work to build on them while investing time in your areas of weakness. While preparing, jot down quick notes that you can review later
  • Regular Practice and Revision: If one does not regularly practice and spend enough time revising, no amount of preparation is sufficient. Give the revision process at least 15 days. Work through sample tests and exam papers from prior years. This will teach the students new shortcuts and approaches to problem-solving while also aiding in the improvement of their time management abilities.
  • Review and Refine the Notes: Candidates are required to have created brief notes for each subject they have studied. The final week is the ideal time to review and quickly revise your notes. Candidates must create a schedule for their final week of study, with the first 3–4 days devoted to working through practice questions while keeping track of the time it took. The days off should be used for review and time management classes.
  • Try Mock Tests: In the final week leading up to the exam, take at least one IPMAT mock test while keeping in mind the IPMAT’s sectional and overall timings. This will give you more confidence while also getting you ready for the exam day. However, do not rely solely on the mock exam for your preparation. Make a note of the topics and questions that you struggled with and prepare for them separately. Additionally, it will show you what not to do during the exam. The IPMAT question bank has a moderate difficulty level. So, don’t worry if you don’t do well on the IPMAT practise test. Attempting practice exams and papers will only improve your preparation.
  • Focus on Time Management: The 90 minute IPMAT is conducted. It is crucial to concentrate on time management because candidates must concentrate on finishing the question paper within the allotted time because they will not be given an extension. Additionally, the IPMAT question paper has negative markings, so it is crucial for candidates to carefully answer the questions. Therefore, during the final week of IPMAT preparation, candidates must concentrate on answering the question paper within the allotted time.
  • Avoid Starting a New Topic: A week prior to the IPMAT exam, avoid starting a new topic. Starting a new topic a week beforehand will only eat up a significant amount of the candidates’ valuable time and could leave them unprepared and perplexed about the subject.
  • Relax: Be confident and at ease during your final week of IPMAT preparation. Candidates put a lot of work into their exam preparation; they shouldn’t let stress and worry undo that. Try to avoid junk food and consume healthy foods. Engage in activities that will help you relax and take your attention away from the stress of how well you performed on the exam.
